The alphabet board is a great way to introduce letters to young children. Children can trace the inset letters with their fingers for tactile reinforcement or trace the letters with the provided dowel "pencil" to work on pre-writing skills. Letters are colored red for consonants or blue for vowels, consistent with other Montessori materials. There is also a cut-out slot to rest the dowel in when not being used.
Board measures 18" wide by 10.5" high and is made from birch plywood. Letters are stained with vibrant colors and then sealed, providing color while still allowing the beautiful wood grain to show through.
